Dynavector
of Japan was started in 1975 by Dr. Noboru Tominari. Unfortunately he passed
away in 2002 robbing the world of one of the doyens of the audio industry. In
establishing, what has become one of the finest and most respected makes of
cartridge in the World, his designs have brought much pleasure and appreciation,
of the fine art of music, to tens, if not, hundreds of thousands of music lovers
worldwide. Since then, Dynavector has established a
New Zealand design arm who have brought to the range a number of
excellent products such as the Te Kaitora cartridge, P75 phono module and
others.
Dynavector introduced to the
world a number
of innovations in its designs many of which elevate Dynavector into the highest
bracket, for many, that of the manufacturer of the finest cartridge in the
world bar
none, the DRT XV1s. There are many more expensive cartridges on the market but
to be nominated the best in the world by many aficionados says much. The only
fact that says more is to experience its musicality, unforced presence and
naturalness. This is in keeping with the Japanese way of viewing musical
reproduction which is often at odds with the western one. We tend to focus on cerebrally
judged parameters whereas the Japanese focus on the emotion and beauty of the
musical performance. I don’t think I need venture who is on the right track.
When we first
applied for the agency in 2003, Dynavector could not cope with the number of
orders they were receiving and were not able to appoint any additional
distributors. Later, after having doubled their production, they appointed us
agents in Southern Africa for which we are grateful. The fact that we have never had
a single faulty product nor dissatisfied customer, coupled with their excellent
service, says more than mere words.
